After months of talking about getting Chad a new little commuter truck we finally took the plunge and did it. We sold his little Chevy S10 (we listed it on KSL classifieds and on facebook, it sold via facebook within a couple of days!) about two weeks ago. It was a sad day, kinda, when the guy that bought it drove off in it. It was a good, cute little truck but our little family of three didn't fit in it and we knew it was time for something bigger.
Chad had his eyes on a little Tacoma his coworker was going to be selling. Between the time we sold "put put" and bought the new "taco" today it was about two weeks. During that two weeks it made sense for Chad to take the car to work and for me to drive the big Ford because of the high cost of gas. We spent a small fortune driving that thing around for two weeks! Today, after much running around, we finally got our hands on the "taco!" We were somehow able to, thanks to our awesome companies, leave work for a while and get our loan done, vehicle inspected, licensed and insured. Chad picked me up and we went back to Payson so he could finish work and I could drive the car home. I also had to go back to work. It was a crazy hectic day but we managed. It felt so good to have the car back and park the Ford for a while!
We loaded up tonight and went for a little ride to get some ice cream. It was nice to be able to fit all three of us in the new "put put", er "taco". It's a tight fit but it works. It's a good looking little truck with a lot more power than the old one. We're excited to welcome it to our family of vehicles. Tyke quite enjoys it too! He's a good little traveler but we can tell that he prefers to ride in the truck rather than the car, possibly because he gets to sit next to his daddy =)
