Tyke LOVES the water! I think it's safe to say we have a little fish! Yesterday after work we met up with Stephanie and her gang and played at the splash pad for a while. Tyke was in heaven! As soon as I got him out of his car seat he started leaning towards the water and going nuts! He kicked up a storm and splashed like crazy. When I would sit him down in the super shallow water he would grunt and look at me like I had done something wrong. I'd pick him and head back to the knee deep water (for me) and he would go right to kicking. He never smiles, and he doesn't get too excited other than his legs and arms go out of control and he can't get enough!
Yesterday was also a first for our little guy. The splash pad pretty much emptied out so Callie Jo and I decided we would take Tyke down the slide. His first time going on a slide and it scared him good. He clung to me and had a look of terror on his face after each run. Callie Jo is such a good little momma bear to Tyke and was sweet enough to ride the slide a few times with him. She's so cute with Tyke.
We had a lot of fun at the pool and stayed until closing time. We loaded up and headed home and did our nightly routine of getting Tyke ready for bed and getting dinner cooked. While I was feeding Tyke he was having a hard time keeping his eyes open. Swimming exhausted him! Unfortunately though, as exhausted as he was, he did NOT sleep well for us. Little stinker is getting his days and nights mixed up. We can't wait to go swimming again, and hope to get Daddy to come join in the fun!
