Derby 2013

We took Tyke to his first demolition derby tonight at the Juab County Fair.  It was a sold out crowd of over 10,000 people!  We had pretty good seats and got to sit by Stephanie and fam.

We borrowed ear muffs from Grandpa Terry for Tyke, because things were loud!  Tyke wasn't too impressed with having to wear them and it was a constant battle to keep them on.

Tyke was a good boy and did a lot of flirting with the people sitting behind us.  He did however get into some trouble with Bowdee.  Bowdee's grandparents had bought him a giant otter pop and Tyke wanted it bad!  He kept grabbing at it and Bowdee kept yelling "no Tykee!"  Finally Aunt Steph took charge and let Tyke have a few tastes of the otter pop.  Tyke was in heaven and Bowdee was NOT impressed!

After nearly 3 hours of watching the derby, and it wasn't even halfway over, Tyke had had enough!  He refused to wear the ear muffs and was super fussy!  We bundled him up in his hoodie and layed him in his car seat thinking maybe he was just cold and tired of being held.  He continued to squeal until squealing turned into crying and we couldn't get him to stop.  We finally loaded up all of our things and headed home.  By the time we were out of the bleachers Tyke was sound asleep.  It was a good fun night and we can't wait to take Tyke again!

(On a side note, tonight's demolition derby marks 4 years since Chad and I met for the first time, crazy!)
