Slave
Last night was one of those rare occasions where I was ready to go to bed by nine. I'm a late owl all the way so this was unheard of. The boys were wide awake, thanks to late naps, and I had the kitchen left to clean from dinner time. It bothered me but at the same time I just didn't care! The boys got sent to bed, haha (we ALWAYS have to go into their rooms with them and sit until they fall asleep otherwise it's chaos) but they snuck the iPad in with them and played that instead.
I layed down on my bed and couldn't get up. Chad got ready for bed, turned all of the lights off and climbed in as well. He's always in bed and asleep by this time. Anyway, we layed in bed listening to the boys play nicely (which is weird because they constantly fight over who gets the iPad) and sing along to the ABC's on the app they were playing. We decided that rather than going in and standing guard we would just wait and see if they would go to sleep by their-selves. Of course they didn't and after about ten minutes the iPad battery died and the boys realized that we were m.i.a. and came looking for us.
The house was dark and we could hear them running around in a panic looking for us. Luke started to cry. I felt bad but we decided to just wait and see... They finally came running into our room calling our names. We pretended to be asleep, rude, I know. Sometimes it's just fun to do so and listen to what their little minds come up with. Tyke and Luke climbed in bed with us and tried poking us in the eyes to see if we were awake. We finally caved and told them to go ahead and lay down and go to sleep. In my mind I thought to myself that the dishes could wait until tomorrow. We layed quietly for a few minutes, well except for Luke because he doesn't do that, and then Tyke blurted out: "Mom, go clean up the mess we made!" Chad and I busted out laughing and couldn't stop. I couldn't imagine what mess Tyke was talking about because it hadn't sounded like they dumped toys out or anything. Chad must have thought the same thing because he asked Tyke, "what mess?" and Tyke responded with, "The one where we ate!" meaning, dinner dishes hadn't been cleaned up. Tyke then proceeded to climb over his dad, snuggled up next to me and tooted! I immediately jumped up out of bed while the boys all giggled, and went and cleaned the kitchen. So much for an early night huh?!

Slow Down!
My handsome lil Tyke is so worried about growing up and growing big. I hate it! I want him to stay little and he knows it. I seriously wish I could freeze time right now and keep my boys how they are at this stage in life! Anyway, Tyke LOVES to tease me about him growing older and bigger all of the time. This mornings conversation on the way to Grandma Cheryl's house went like this:
Tyke: "Mom, I detting bigger and bigger!"
Me: "I know Tyke, knock it off! I don't like it!"
Tyke: "I four years old mom! Den I going to be five and den I going to be six..."
Me: "Stop it Tyke! Stop growing up so fast! Stop getting so big!"
Tyke: "I tant mom! I already four now!"
Time, please slow down!

4 Year Old Pics
How handsome is he?! My baby boy is four years old today and with happy tears in my eyes I snapped a few pictures of him before his big party. He is so smart and kind and funny and brings so much joy to our family. We love you so much Roni-man and hope you have had the best birthday today!
4 Years Old!
I can't believe that the boy who made me a mom and daddy a dad turns four years old today! It has been the best four years of our lives and we have enjoyed every minute of it! I do wish that time would slow down, like a lot! Parenthood is so bittersweet! I love watching my Roni-man grow and learn and thrive but I hate it at the same time. I want to freeze time and keep him little. He's the best little boy ever! He's a sweetheart with a huge heart. He loves to give "wuvs" and "nuggle" and has to always be touching us. He gives the best hugs and kisses. He is my best helper around the house and with little brother. He loves to work hard, like his daddy. He enjoys chores and the gets excited to be trusted with them. Tyke is the best big brother Luke could ask for. Tyke is always watching out for Bubba and taking care of him and calming him down in his fits of rage. Tyke and Luke get along awesome! They of course fight from time to time but for the most part they get along awesome and are the best of friends! Tyke's concern and love for his brother melts my heart.

Awesome!
On the drive to Grandma Cheryl's house this morning Tyke was a chatter box! He talked up a storm about all sorts of things that I can't remember but my favorite was when he said, "Mom? Girls are pretty and boys are AWESOME!" I don't know where he gets this stuff from but it sure is great!

27 Months Old
Holy cow! It's a new year and the Lu is a month older, already! 2016 sure seemed to go by in a hurry and this little boy of ours learned lots and grew lots and just keeps getting cuter and cuter! He seriously has the cutest, funnest, sassiest little personality ever!
Luke is a little clown. He always has been but it just keeps progressing. He WILL BE the class clown of his class someday, mark my word! Luke loves to laugh and be silly and make people laugh. If you laugh at something he's doing or saying he will keep doing it until you just can't take it anymore. He never stops! He thinks everything is funny, whether it is or not, and it sometimes gets him into big trouble. It's fun that he has such a fun personality, it offsets his grumpy one, haha.
Speaking of grumpy, holy cow can this kid throw a fit! I have never seen temper tantrums like Luke's before! He is a little bomb waiting to go off and when he does it takes forever to get things back to normal. Most of the time he doesn't even know why he's kicking and screaming, he just is. It's something else to watch and deal with.
I swear Luke has his finger up his nose constantly! I don't know why, it's clean, but he does and it drives me crazy! It's like a comfort thing for him I think but I'm not sure. Silly Lu!
Luke is talking more and more these days. He still doesn't use his words too well but he's learning more and we're starting to understand him better.
Luke is starting to show some signs of wanting to potty train. He hates being in wet or poopy diapers and tells us almost immediately if he needs to be changed. We tried underwear on him once and he loved it and he looked so cute running around in his undies. There were no accidents, but he wasn't in them long enough to create a problem. We've put him in pull-ups a couple of times and he thinks that that is pretty awesome! I'm kind of in denial that we might be at the potty training stage with Luke already so we haven't been too persistent at doing so. It will come, just not now.
We love our wild, crazy, silly boy so much! He is a little sweetheart when he wants to be and monster when he's mad. He's full of emotion energy and keeps us all guessing what might be next. He is seriously the cutest and we love him so much!!

- "I told" ("I'm cold" which I love because it means snuggles!)
- "La lighs!" (Sounds like he's saying flash lights but he's referring to the Christmas lights which he loved so much and is sad they're gone now.)
- "Bab-bub!" ("Back up" Probably his favorite phrase when we go for a ride and stop to look at something then drive off. We have to stop again and back up so he can see or else we get the wrath of Lu!)
