Tyke continues to amaze us with all that he does. The kid is smart and wows us every day. We recently got an iPad for our family and Tyke is obsessed. It has it's up and down sides. The down side is it's a fight to get it away from Tyke. He would play it all day long if we'd let him but we want him to be well rounded and play with real toys and books and outside too. The up side is that we've downloaded some educational apps, mainly concerning the ABC's and shapes and colors and the smart little guy is a pro at them. There are other games on the iPad but he prefers the ABC's and shapes games. It's been amazing to watch him play and learn. He can identify quite a few letters now and gets so excited when he does. He also sings the alphabet, Tyke style, by singing "e, i, g, i, g, i, eeeee!" to the tune of "abcdefg" It's adorable and he does it every time he sees letters, anywhere! Signs, on TV, in books, wherever there are letters he points them out and starts singing.
Tyke is a great big brother and is always so concerned with Luke. If Luke makes a peep Tyke will yell at me, "Ma, Lu!" so that I will hurry and come to Luke's rescue. Tyke makes sure Luke always has his binky and blankets and sometimes toys too. Tyke loves giving Luke kisses on the back of the head and talks to him lots. Luke loves his big brother and stares him down and grins while Tyke talks to him. Tyke has amazed Chad and I both with how well he has adjusted to having a baby in the house. He has seriously been so good and we couldn't have asked for better behavior. I can't wait for our boys to get a little bigger so they can really play together. They're going to be the best of friends!
Tyke has been a super picky eater lately. He absolutely refuses to pretty much everything that we cook for meals. For breakfast he will only eat toast, poptarts, eggo waffles, pancakes and bacon and nothing else. We try and try to get him to even just take a taste of eggs or hash browns but he refuses. For lunch he has just a few options he chooses. Corn dogs with applesauce and crackers (ee-ah's), macaroni and cheese (ta-cleeze), grilled cheese sandwich and fruit (I can't remember how pronounce that), or pizza (pita! pita! pita! pita!). For dinner his options are about the same as for lunch. Occasionally we can force feed him, aka convince him, to eat potatoes and gravy but he's so stubborn about it. If we can just get one taste of food in his mouth he will decide it's OK to eat. For the most part though, if we try to get that taste in his mouth he turns on his gag reflexes and immediately pukes. He's a little stinker and definitely knows how to get his own way!

Tyke has gotten two new teeth in the last month, with another one trying to break it's way through! He got his top right canine on 12/9 and his bottom right canine broke through on 12/11. He did fairly well with them coming in although he did throw up a few times and had a runny nose and rosy cheeks, darn teeth! Tyke is wearing 2T clothing, with some shirts being 3T just for the arm length (same problem his daddy has). He's still in a size 8 shoe even though they're too big. A 7 1/2 would be perfect but we haven't been able to find any that we like, that don't cost an arm and a leg. He's still in size 5 diapers and occasionally will let me know that he needs to/wants to go potty on the potty chair. We've attempted underwear a couple of times but both times resulted in accidents right off and I gave up just that fast. Potty training is going to be an adventure for sure! The last time we had Tyke weighed he was barely hitting 30 pounds (this was a few weeks ago at a doctors visit). I'm sure he's more now because the kid is getting solid!
We really are having so much fun watching our little Tyke grow into a toddler. He's so full of life and attitude and keeps us on our toes daily! We love you Roni-man!

I have to include this picture of Tyke's silly smile. This is the smile he gives people when I ask him to smile. I have to catch him off guard to get a picture of a normal smile.
