Teething

I think it's safe to say that Tyke is officially teething.  I believe it started about a week ago with the yucky blow out diapers.  He was a little cranky all last week.  We noticed his bottom gums looked swollen and decided to try a little bit of Tylenol (1/4 dose) to see if it would help.  It did and it knocked him out for the night, as usual.  Thursday night I gave him more Tylenol, a half dose this time, and it made our little guy so goofy and wide awake.  He kept smacking his head and putting his thumb on his nose and would just giggle and grin a drunken grin.  It was pretty funny to watch, until it was bedtime, and then it was a fight.  By Friday night we added Ambesol to the mix to help calm him down.  We also gave him ice to suck on and frozen peaches too, using the little mesh fruit holding thingy we have.  He really dislikes the peaches and pulls a sour face when we give them to him, so we've mainly just been giving him ice.  The weekend was miserable but things are looking up!  Tyke hasn't been near as grouchy as he was.  He's been great for his babysitters, fussy for me, and perfect for his Daddy.  He hasn't had any meds since Sunday evening.  We still can't see any little white bumps in his mouth, but he's definitely had swollen gums on and off.  His cheeks are red and chapped, probably from his nose constantly running and being wiped.  He gets so mad and fights us and usually tries to beat us to the wiping by smearing it all over his face as soon as he sees the tissues coming.  Poor kiddo, we can't wait until those little teeth pop through!
