Our little guy had a successful first Halloween! It was just he and I that went door to door trick or treating because his Pa was down south hunting with Grandpa Terry. We missed him lots!
For Tyke's first Halloween we dressed him up as a cute little minion (off of the Despicable Me movies). He pulled it off great! Cutest little minion ever!
I picked Tyke up from Aunt Jenny's house and got him dressed up and ready to go. Aunt Jenny snapped some pictures of Tyke, Quade and Teagen before we left. The older boys creeped me out, especially Quade, but Tyke thought they were pretty cool and just grinned and reached for them. Silly boy! Nothing phases him, I swear. We didn't go trick or treating to too many places because our little minion had worn himself out. He was asleep by the time we made it to our first stop! And he fell asleep between the next two stops too. Sleepy head! We went to Nanna's, Grandma Cheryl's and Grandma Gaye's. Tyke got spoiled with lots of goodies, a rice krispie treat (his favorite, because of the noise the wrapper makes), socks, a new sippy cup and a two dollar bill!
We ordered a pizza from Lotsa Motsa (yay they have yummy gluten free now, and it's GOOD!) and went home to spend the rest of the night handing out candy to cousins and other trick or treaters. Tyke had a blast digging his hands through our bucket of Halloween candy! He at one point had it scattered all over the entry way! Grandma Cheryl hung out with us for a while. We watched Ghost Busters on the TV and ate pizza.
To finish off Halloween 2013 we made a cute little piece of art (thanks pinterest!) It only took two canvases to get it right. Painting Tyke's hand black was a chore in itself, trying to get him to lay his black little hand flat on the canvas, um yeah right. He did not like being painted and he did not like being controlled. Round two was a success for the most part (round one of the foot print turned out better, oh well). I'm super proud of our artwork and I'm excited to be able use it for Halloween decor for years to come. It's priceless to me!
Happy Halloween 2013!
