Pumpkin Patch 2013

Today after work, we bundled Tyke up and headed to the pumpkin patch at The Red Barn in Santaquin!  It was chilly and the wind was blowing (when doesn't it blow?) but we had a good time.  After arriving we had to wait about ten minutes for the next available tractor-pulled hay wagon ride.  We loaded up and headed out to the patch.  Tyke was in aw.  He had the cutest little curious look on his face and kept look at Chad and I with a big grin on his face like "is this for real?!"  I think he enjoyed watching the trees and fence posts go by as we drove down the dirt road.  It took a few minutes to get to the patch.

There was a lot to see and do, just not for a 9 month old.  We walked around for a few minutes, and I took Tyke down the small slide.  He wasn't too excited about that but he also wasn't upset with me either.  We walked over into the pumpkin patch, it had been well picked over, and picked out a few small pumpkins for Tyke to choose from.  He was all smiles!  We got him a pumpkin and loaded up on the next wagon out.  Tyke's poor little hands and cheeks were cold and his nose was running like crazy (dang teething process!).  We got back to the barn and went inside to pay for our pumpkin and ride.  Before doing so we treated ourselves to an ice cream from the creamery.  Go figure, we were cold and ate ice cream, perfect combo!  Tyke was happy, curious, and grabby as can be the entire time.  It was a fun little family outing and we can't wait to do it again next year!  Tyke will be old enough to go wild then!
