Using the Straw

It's so crazy how many firsts Tyke has had in the month of September!  Tonight he added another one.  We haven't really worked much with him on how to drink from a straw.  Tonight though, after sticking a straw to his mouth, he knew just what to do and was just as shocked as we were.  He loved it!  It's safe to say he's a pro at drinking from a straw.  I had to finally "cut him off" though because I was worried he would get a belly ache from drinking so much water so fast.

Funny story, while we were sitting in the restaurant we had Tyke in a high chair and right behind him was a little girl in a high chair.  She couldn't have been more than a year old.  They kept looking at each other and occasionally talked.  I think they were flirting...  Anyway, this little gal kept trying to hand Tyke treats and he would turn back around and look at us for more water.  The table this little girl was sitting at got their bill, and it was served in one of those little black trays.  She picked it up, played with it for a minute and then tried to hand it off to Tyke.  Chad's the only one that witnesses the hand off.  He said they were both stretched out about as far as their little arms could reach and Tyke took the tray from his friend turned to us and just grinned proudly.  It was the cutest thing ever!  I wish I could have seen the hand off, oh well.  Tyke is a little ladies man!
