Seth has a bear tag and was hunting so we were excited to park and watch and wait and listen to see if maybe he was lucky enough to get a bear tonight. He wasn't. He had 3 bears come in to his area but none were big enough for shooting.
Even though we didn't get any excitement from the bear hunt we did have a great time hanging out with Grandpa Terry, Jerremy and Roy (McPherson). While glassing the mountain we spotted a small herd of cow elk and a nice bull tagging along behind them. While waiting and watching and waiting some more we got to hear elk bugling, which is always awesome! Tyke and I sat in the dirt and played with rocks. Tyke thought that was great and was totally intrigued with it. We also got to enjoy a really pretty sunset thanks to lots of stormy looking clouds moving in.
Around 8 pm it was getting pretty dark so we decided to load up and call it a night. Seth still wasn't out from his hunting spot but we needed to get home and get ready for bed (darn work!). Plus, it was getting pretty chilly for us as well, especially for Tyke. It was a great night and we're glad we got to go and spend some good family time in the mountains!
