I DREAD putting away Tyke's clothes that he has out grown. It's so bittersweet for me. I've really procrastinated since putting away Tyke's newborn clothes and haven't done much since. His poor dresser drawers were getting to the point they were over flowing full so last night I took a few minutes to weed out the old and straighten up the new. It was so sad going through my favorite baby Tyke clothes and folding them up one last time.
Tyke was lying in his crib playing with his "tv" while I folded clothes and he started getting fussy so I sat him up. He doesn't like laying down anymore and really prefers to sit and watch what's going on. He hadn't been sitting for 5 minutes when I turned my back to stack some clothes and heard him make a weird noise. Talk about adding insult to injury...while I'm holding back tears, getting rid of his outgrown clothes, the little stinker had pulled himself up into standing position and was gumming (chewing) on the crib rail with the biggest grin on his little face. He was so proud of himself and I freaked right out and got after him! This can't be happening! After telling him "NO!" he sat back down, grinned and then tried to pull himself back up. I picked him up before he could and we immediately went in to the other room and woke up Chad to inform him of this new milestone. Some time this week Tyke's crib is going to be getting adjusted so the little stinker can't dive out.
