Happy Campers

We had a great, relaxing weekend spent camping up the canyon at Red Creek Flats with the McPherson family.  Stephanie and Seth invited us to go with them and his side of the family.  We headed up the canyon on Friday after I got home from work.  Our usual spot at Red Creek Flats was taken so we ended up camping in a different, more grassy spot.  It turned out to be pretty darn nice for all of the kids.

We pulled our awning out and Tyke's playpen and let him enjoy the great outdoors!  I think it's safe to say that he loves camping.  He was always in such a good mood as long as he was outside checking things out.  He got to play in the dirt and grass and loved it!  When we would take him away from it he would rock and growl until we put him back down.  He definitely knows how to control his mommy and daddy and we love it!

A couple of "twin" pictures.  Everyone comments about how much Tyke looks like Bowdee!  On Saturday the boys were dressed almost identical, by accident, so I had to snap a picture.

And I just love this picture of Tyke and his Daddy!  Both dressed in blue with their camo hats and looking in the same direction.  I love my boys!

Our little Tykers got to enjoy his first pony ride on Blackjack (Roy and Barbara's pony).  Uncle Seth helped him, it was pretty cute!  He also had his first try at drinking water from a cup.  Chad had a big glass of ice water and was holding Tyke.  Tyke kept staring at the cup and reaching/grabbing for it so we decided one little sip wouldn't hurt.  Chad was nervous sharing because every time he got the cup close to Tyke's mouth Tyke would get excited and grab the cup and Chad did NOT need the extra help!  Tyke got a little sip and wasn't too sure what to think about it.  Our little guy is growing up fast!

Brooke, Callie Jo and Bowdee took extra good care of our little guy.  He's so loved!  They were always making sure he was covered up, happy and well entertained!

Bowdee tried convincing us that eating bubbles was yummy!

Sunday morning everyone packed up and left except for us and Steph and Seth.  We decided we'd throw together a family dinner around 5 p.m.  We drove up the canyon a ways until we were able to find cell service and invited everyone up for dutch oven spare ribs, yummy potatoes and hot dogs (fun menu right?!)  We had a great time sitting around the camp fire eating good food and visiting with each other!

Don't mess with these kids! =)

Dave didn't listen....
Grandpa Terry kept everyone entertained with his stories! =)

We decided to come home Sunday night instead of Monday morning, which I'm glad we did.  It was nice to have a day to re coop from our relaxing weekend!
