We got called back to one of the rooms and stripped Tyke down to be weighed and measured. Our little guy is growing great! We have a long and skinny baby!
Tyke's 4 month stats:
Weight: 15 pounds (42%)
Height: 26.5 inches (96%)
Head: 17.3 inches (98%)
Dr. Fullmer told us that in the next month Tyke should start rolling over and grabbing toys from us. We told him that he already does both and he told us that that's great! In fact, as we were talking our little show off Tyke rolled over onto his belly on the table!
Tyke's nurse came in to give him his immunizations. This round he had one oral and 2 shots. I got to give him his oral which I thought would be easy because he likes sugar water so much but we struggled a little. He kept gagging on it and I was getting nervous that he wasn't getting it all because he slobbered a lot. After that was done it was time for shots. The first shot Tyke barely whimpered, the second shot he freaked right out! He calmed down almost immediately though once we picked him up and loved him better.
Tyke did so awesome this go around! We left the doctors office and before heading home we gave him a half dose of Tylenol. Around 4 p.m. we gave Tyke another half does of Tylenol (I'm so paranoid about giving our little guy medicine that I have only ever given him half doses when needed, which is probably a good thing because it knocks him right out! I'd hate to see what a full dose does to him). Tyke started crying really hard after he was done taking the second dose of Tylenol and wouldn't stop. He cried for a good 45 minutes before we were finally able to calm him down by putting him in a warm bath and putting warm wash cloths on his sore spots.
After all of that we were good to go. No more Tylenol and no more sad face because of his owies! We're so glad that this round was easier on us all, but especially Tyke. We love our Tykers and we're so thankful that he's healthy and perfect!
