Another month has come and gone already! Tykers is now 4 months old and getting more and more fun everyday! Our little guy is super active, very alert, curious and talkative.
He has rolling over from his back to his belly mastered! He still struggles with rolling from his tummy to his back (I haven't witnessed it yet but his daddy has). He'll roll onto his tummy and waits about 10 seconds before freaking out and needing help to get back over. He's also really good at arching his back and kicking his feet to scoot across the floor. He doesn't stay put anymore. Also, changing his diaper has become a chore now that he wiggles so much. He thinks it's funny to kick out of his diaper once we have it positioned and ready to tape shut. It usually takes two to three tries to get him diapered. Little stinker!
Tyke LOVES his toys and has gotten really grabby with them. If you hold a toy in front of him he will immediately grab it. He also likes to grab hair. It doesn't matter if I have mine pulled back or not he'll get a handful and snuggle right into my face. I love it even though it's painful at times. =) He also likes to play with Chad's hair and whiskers. He's a texture kind of kid and playing with his daddy keeps entertained pretty darn good!
Tyke is wearing anywhere from 3 to 9 month clothes depending on the brands. Some shirts fit him big but are needing to be put away because we have a hard time getting them over that head of his! =(
Bath time is so much fun for our little guy now. Chad does most of the work and I think he and Tyke enjoy their time together. Tyke has mastered splashing and gets Chad and I pretty wet by the time bath time is done! We have a little cup in the tub to use when washing Tyke's hair and to wash the soap off of his body. As soon as he sees that cup full of water coming towards him he starts kicking and usually knocks it out of our hands. It's almost like a karate chop that he does. We get a good laugh out of it. After getting out of the tub it is nonstop protesting from our little guy while we clean his ears and nose and get him lotioned up and in his jammies. I really need to record it one of these nights because it's a hoot!
Tyke pretty much refuses to let me hold him like a baby unless he's super tired. If I cradle him in my arms he wrinkles his cute little nose and growls at me. If I don't immediately put him in the up right position he gets super mad at me and starts growling, screaming and crying, whatever it takes to get me to fix the problem. As soon as I give in he immediately stops the whining. Of course I get a kick out of it and tease him daily by cradling him. And of course it breaks my heart a little that he thinks he's too big for his momma to hold him like that anymore. Needless to say, when he's tired and wants to be cradled I'm all over it!
Tyke still loves story time and we're slowly getting quite the collection of books for him. He really pays attention to the pages (I'm not so sure he pays attention to our reading) and tries so hard to get a hold of them. I've helped him a few times to turn the pages and he seems to get pretty excited about that. After finishing a book I'll hold it in front of him, closed, and he'll start slapping it and kicking his little feet with excitement. I'm convinced that that's his way of telling me to read it again, and so I do, and after reading the same book 3 times he usually drifts off to sleep.
Tyke has been able to spend a lot more time outdoors now that it's finally warmed up a bit. Grass and dirt get him super excited! Most baby's that I've seen on grass cry about it, not our Tykers, he LOVES IT! I've finally given in and stuck his little piggies in the dirt and he really likes that too. As soon as we pick him up from the grass or dirt he gets super excited (meaning: put me back down!) and kicks his legs so hard and waves his arms until we put him back. We've gone on a few walks and he enjoys them. He's so observant and looks at everything with curious eyes. He loves when dogs run after us (I don't! They scare me), watching birds take off, and watching the cars drive by. He talks and blows bubbles and sneezes the entire time. It makes going for walks so much more fun!
We love our little guy and are enjoying watching him grow and learn. He's such a happy camper and we love his cute little personality so much! Happy 4 months little buddy! =)
He is just so cute. I love it.
