Festival of Lights

Tyke has been a huge fan of the Christmas lights!  Every time he sees them on the house, at the Old Mill Park, or on the trees he gets so excited and growls, "wow!!"  It almost makes him speechless!  The other night he was having one of his epic fits for me and I couldn't calm him down no matter what I tried.  As soon as I opened the door to see the lights he gasped, his breath taken away, and growled/whispered "wow!"  And then looked at me and smiled.  The cure to his fits!  What are we going to do when Christmas time is over and the lights get taken down?

Chad and I have a little family tradition of going to the Festival of Lights in Spanish Fork every year.  We were so excited to take Tyke for the first time!  We always wait until there is snow on the ground before we go, it's our rule!  Tyke and I picked up Daddy from work and headed to Spanish Fork.  We did a little shopping (nothing major, just needed some baby formula), grabbed a quick dinner at Sonic (for me) and Costco (for Chad) and then headed to the park.

Tyke was really confused when I got him out of his car seat to drive around the park.  He loves sitting in the front of any vehicle because there are so many fun knobs and buttons to play with.  Unfortunately for him, he almost never gets to sit up front, only when the vehicles are parked and even then it's very rarely.  Tyke LOVED the lights and growled "wow!" through more than half of the ride.  Towards the end he started getting restless and cranky because we wanted him to watch the lights, not he knobs and buttons.  He got super irritated with us when we strapped him back in his seat before heading out.

We love this little family tradition and hope to continue it for many, many years!
