Blessing Day

Today was a very special day for our little Luke!  Today he was given a name and a blessing by his Uncle Cody!  We opted to have Luke's blessing done at home because we wanted it to be small and intimate (we're still not adjusted to our new ward, even though we've lived here 2+ years).

We had a good turn out with our families coming to join in.  In Luke's circle were: Bishop (Steve) Howarth, Uncle Cody Christensen, Grandpa Terry, Great Grandpa Wally, Uncle Seth, and Uncle Trenton.  Luke did really well.  I was so nervous he would cry or have a blow out during the blessing (especially nervous about the blow out because he has had lots of those this past week and the blessing tuxedo was borrowed from Aunt Rachelle).  Luke was starting to get really fussy right before his blessing but as we all gathered in the front room he snuggled into my chest and fell asleep.  He slept through the entire blessing and was good as can be.  Uncle Cody gave Luke Chad Long an awesome blessing and blessed him with good health and strength, to be an example to us all, and to grow and learn the things that he needs to.  We, Chad and I, appreciate everyone that came to support our little guy, but especially Cody for being so willing to bless our Lu-Lu!

We decided that we would combine Luke's blessing with Tyke's birthday party and have a nice dinner in between the two to celebrate.  We had turkey, ham, yummy potatoes, rolls, green salad and veggies and cake and ice cream.

It was a wonderful day and we feel so blessed to have the family that we have.  They're always so willing to come and support our boys in everything and love them so much.  We also feel incredibly blessed to have two perfect little guys to raise.  We love Tyke and Luke with all our hearts.  Luke is a perfect son and a perfect little brother.  He's such a good baby and we can't wait to see what the future has in store for him!  Happy Blessing Day Luke Chad!
