Well, today we are officially 16 weeks preggo! After a lot of talk Chad and I decided that we wanted to find out what we were having this time. At our 9 week ultrasound our tech, Jay, told us that at 16 weeks he could tell us. So we got it scheduled and at exactly 16 weeks we went in to find out. (This worked out great because it's Mother's Day weekend and we plan to tell our whole families on Sunday, surprise!)
Our appointment started off a little rough. My preggo brain had made me think our appointment was at 11:30 a.m. when really it was at 11 so we of course showed up thirty minutes late. I was freaking out inside thinking I had blown our whole plan but luckily Jay hurried and squeezed us into his tight schedule. We went back to the room and immediately he told me my bladder was too full. No surprise there, I was in misery! (at our last ultrasound I wasn't full enough so I made sure to drink lots this morning and it showed!) So I went and did my business, came back and got told again I was too full. I was so embarrassed at this point: we were late and I was not cooperating. Finally we were able to move on with the ultrasound.
Jay asked us what our bets were, Chad said girl and I said boy. Within seconds we were looking at our baby, and within seconds Jay pointed out what it was, a BOY!!! It wasn't hard to see at all. Our little guy was not modest at all and gave us plenty of good views of his gender. Jay checked out a few other things even though he didn't need to, and according to all of his measurements our little guy is growing right on schedule and perfectly! Jay said he's a chubby little thing for his age. We were able to watch him moving his little fist and crossing his little feet at the ankle, just like his big brother always does. It was so much fun and so surreal! Baby Long measures 5 inches and weighs approximately 5 ounces. It's crazy that with him being that small we were able to see so much! Jay said that in 25 years he has never been wrong (he was right about Tyke too, even though we didn't know his gender until he was born) and that our little guy was his easiest find of the day.
We're so excited for another little boy! We're excited for Tyke to have a brother to grow up with. It's going to be crazy fun to have two little boys so close together in age. I still can't quite believe that I'm going to be the Momma of two handsome boys! I feel incredibly blessed! Life is good!!!
