A Little Training

Our little Tykers has been a fussy guy today.  Not horribly bad but just not really his self.  We kept him fed, changed, and even took him outside a couple of times but he stayed fussy.

We went out to Nanna's house (Chad's mom's) around 4:30 for a family dinner.  Tyke did really well and seemed pretty happy.  Chad and I decided that maybe he had just had enough of us and needed different people to check out and talk to.  Tyke was a good boy the entire visit and for the ride home.

We got home and layed him on his play mat and he was content for about 10 minutes and then the tears started coming.  It's the saddest thing in the world to see my little guy cry to the point of tears.  It breaks my heart even though I know he's just mad and not hurt or anything.  I decided that maybe he was hungry so I started feeding him.  He was so fussy the entire time!  I had to keep stopping to burp him, thinking he had a bubble or something.  Sometimes I'd get a good burp and other times I'd get nothing.  Well it finally got to the point where I was getting frustrated with him because he'd nurse for 30 seconds and then pull off and cry, nurse for 30 seconds and cry.  I called it quits and I put him over my shoulder and started burping him.  I said to him, "come on buddy, give me a good one."  My baby boy listened to his momma well and splattered me in the face with juicy burp.  I was a little shocked and then the real stuff came.  Okay, Tyke does NOT spit up but tonight he COVERED HIMSELF AND ME IN SLIME!!!!  Chad and I both half laughed and then I told him I needed a burp rag bad.  He jumped up to grab one and saw just what damage Tyke had done.  TMI but it was thee slimiest baby spit up I've ever seen!

We got Tyke cleaned up and then started a bath for him.  After sliming me he was a happy boy again and totally relaxed, so needless to say we're pretty sure he had had a belly ache all day =(  Chad bathed Tyke while I went and cleaned myself up.  After bath time the mess making wasn't over.  Chad had just finished drying Tyke off and was getting his diaper ready to put on him when he started peeing.  Not only did he pee, but he peed mostly into the toilet, on the seat and the rug.  It was good aim and we got a good laugh out of it.  Yep, Tyke had his first potty training experience tonight, at almost 2 months old, while laying on the counter.  We're SO proud!!!! =)
