2 Months Old

Our baby boy is 2 months old today!  I can't believe how fast it has gone.  We are so in love with Tyke, he's our everything!

Tyke is growing like crazy and getting more and more fun everyday.  He talks to us a lot.  His coos and growls are so dang cute.  He smiles really easily now.  He has started to pucker his bottom lip pretty good and sometimes can't decide if he wants to smile or pout.  It's so funny when he is being fussy and trying to stay mad but can't control the smiles coming through.  It makes us smile.  Heck, everything he does makes us smile! =)  His little newborn cry is slowly going away.  Also, we've officially retired all newborn clothes, sad sad sad!

Looks wise it seems that our Tykers is going to have blue eyes and his new hair is coming in blonde.  If we get a big enough grin out of him there are dimples but they're mostly hidden in his chubby, chubby cheeks.  He has the cutest little double chin and is now working on a third.  I love his little face!

Tyke is getting better control of his little arms and hands.  He has become quite grabby and always has to have a handful of my hair or Chad's collar.  He always has his right arm extended and his hand in a fist.  He tries so hard to keep control of it but is constantly punching himself in the forehead.  We get a kick out of that!  He likes playing patty cake but only if you do the actions and no singing.  Singing ticks him off.  Which by the way, I've noticed that when listening to music he prefers male singers over the girls, when a girl starts singing he starts fussing, it's too funny!

Tyke really enjoys tummy time.  I think he actually prefers it to being layed on his back.  He'll lay on his belly for a good 5 minutes before getting restless.  He plays really well on his little play mat.  He boxes the toys and grabs at them and kicks his little legs like crazy but mostly he just coos and grins at himself in the mirror.  It's the cutest thing ever!

Tyke LOVES bath time now!  We've switched our routine up a little and now bathe him at night so his daddy can get in on the action (and so we can have a good schedule going for when I go back to work, boo!).  I'm pretty sure Tyke actually prefers Chad to bathe him instead of me.  He just stares at his daddy while he's getting cleaned up and tells his stories.  I love watching them bond like that, it's one of the many highlights of days.  I still get to do the dirty work though: cleaning his ears, nose, and rubbing him down with lotion...he still isn't too sure of all that.

Tyke is a really good little sleeper.  He's always only gotten up once a night (usually around 3:30) but he's sleeping longer for me now and letting us snooze until 5 or 6 a.m.  We get up for food and then it's back to sleep until 9 a.m. and then an 11 a.m. nap.  He loves to snuggle and we love that he loves to.  It's the best thing in the world to have our little boy curled up right under our chin to sleep.

Tyke is the best thing that has ever happened to us!  We love you so very much baby boy! =)
