We had a great, productive, long weekend! I was able to go Black Friday shopping with Grandma Cheryl, Stephanie and Tiffany. We left Thursday night and spent the entire night shopping. I was completely exhausted but I got most of our Christmas shopping done.
Chad and the boys spent the morning driving along "the bench" looking for animals. We met up at Grandma Cheryl's house (not on purpose) and let Tyke shoot his BB gun for the first time. That boy was in heaven! He threw a mega fit when it was time to put it up and go home. I got home about twenty minutes before the boys did. I hurried and ate some lunch and then went and took a long much needed nap. I slept for about three hours and it felt great! That night we finally finished putting up the Christmas decorations. We had started a few days before but I started cleaning instead of decorating and then it was time to cook for Thanksgiving so the Christmas decor got pushed aside, literally. The boys had a ball playing with it all and making a mess. Anyway, we finally got it all put up. Tyke loved helping me decorate the tree. He even got to put the star on top which made him super proud! (doesn't he look so little in that picture?!) Tyke likes to gather the ornaments in big bunches. He thinks he's done good when he can hang five or six on one tree branch. Our tree may not look perfect but I think it is! I left everything just where he put it! We got out the boys 2015 ornaments and hung them last. Tyke was super mad at me that I wouldn't let him play with his "toy." I had to hang the boys ornaments way up high out of Tyke's reach because he wants them to play with. Luke could have cared less to be in on all of the action which surprised me. He was perfectly content in the room with his Daddy, being left alone by big brother. This year for 2015 Tyke chose a "blue one" ninja turtle and Luke got a minion. We are starting to get quite the collection of fun little ornaments for the boys.
Saturday morning after breakfast I hurried and got the boys ready. I styled Tyke's hair with some gel for the first time in a long time and he was not happy about it! He kept saying, "I NO LIKE DIS MOM!" He makes me laugh haha. After getting the boys ready and getting them sippy cups of chocolate milk, we all loaded up in the car and headed north. We dropped the boys off at Grandma Cheryl's house where Tiffany babysat them for a few hours for us. Chad and I went and did a little shopping and it was so nice but so weird to be able to go without the kiddos. We had lunch at our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Provo, El Gallo Giro, did some more shopping and then met up with Tiffany, Grandma & Grandpa and the boys at Costco. We took the boys from there and headed home. We barely missed the light parade, which we were a little bummed about, but we made an effort to drive around and look at Christmas lights, even at the Old Mill Park. Tyke thought it was all just awesome! To make it even more perfect it was snowing. Tyke kept repeating, "Would you wook at dat!" (Would you look at that) and "Dats pwetty tool Mom!" (That's pretty cool, Mom!).
Sunday was spent at home. Chad and Tyke worked hard out in the yard splitting firewood and moving some of it to the porch. Tyke LOVED running the log splitter! It was one of the cutest things I've ever seen! That kid loves to help his Daddy no matter what the job might be. Luke and I stayed in the house most of the day being lazy. Luke found a new trick with one of the toy plastic screws...he walks around with it in his mouth and blows making a whistle sound. I don't know how he doesn't get winded by it because he does it non-stop a lot! Chad put in new can lighting in the kitchen and boy does it make a huge difference! We're both wishing that we would have done it a long time ago. We can actually see now, haha! All in all I would say it was a great four day weekend! I feel like we got a lot accomplished and had fun doing it!
