The boy is trouble! Last night Chad had gone to help a friend move into their new home. Tyke was less than happy about it and was a little bear to play with. He was such a grump and I knew that he was tired and ready for bed. I told him we would get him bathed and in his jammies and then I would make him a bottle.
I ran the bath water, with lots of help from Tyke. (He thinks it's funny to try and throw the bottles of soap in the water.) As soon as I turned off the water I stepped outside of the bathroom to grab Tyke's towel (it was hanging off of his playpen) and BAM! The door slammed shut and the drawers got pulled open. Tyke locked me out of the bathroom!
I tried to open the door but all of the drawers on the other side were open! All I could see was Tyke's little hands moving around checking everything out. I kept yelling at him to close the drawers but he just laughed at me. I was panicking and didn't know what to do. There was no way I could maneuver closing those drawers (like we did when we were kids, with the butter knife, remember sisters?) because I had less than half an inch gap to work with. My biggest fear was that Tyke would go and dive into the tub, he loves water! Lucky for me he stayed away.
I finally decided that I was just going to have to break the door down if I wanted to get in. I started slamming it against the drawers hard while yelling at Tyke to let me in! He quickly slammed the drawers shut, the door swung open, we looked at each other and he giggled and took off running for the tub! I grabbed him and tickled him and lectured him and he just grinned and laughed the entire time. He's such a little stinker!
When I told Chad what had happened he told me I was brave to have walked away and that he never trusts the boy because he's too fast! We have our hands full with Tyke!!
