Camping 2014

We got our first camp trip of the year in this past weekend and boy did we have fun.  Friday night after work we finished loading up the trailer and headed west to "Hobo's Village" (we found out the name of the place while we were camping thanks to some random strangers that stopped to visit and their story telling).  Chris and Danielle and kids came with us.  The guys set up camp while the rest of us played in Chris and Danielle's trailer.  The wind was blowing and it was getting dark and cold.  We watched a movie and visited while the guys finished up and grilled some hot dogs.  Tyke was a curious little guy in  their trailer and didn't pay much attention to the food.  When we finally called it a night and went back to our trailer Tyke was too excited to fall to sleep.  I'll bet it was nearly midnight before he finally crashed.  He was all smiles and giggles while running back and forth in our trailer.  I think it's safe to say he loves camping!

The weather was supposed to be perfect but Saturday morning we woke up to snow!  It was a fairly chilly weekend but nothing that a hoodie couldn't fix.  Tyke was in heaven playing with his cousins and the dirt.  Nanna came out for the day and brought chocolate teddy grahams with her.  She was very popular with Tyke and between him and Waylon and Autumn they ate more than half of the box of cookies.  The kids had fun digging in the dirt.  Waylon and Autumn had new buckets and shovels to play with, Tyke had nothing because I hadn't even thought about buying him something so fun.  He improvised though.  He watched them for a few minutes, a little jealous, and then he picked up a spoon and crouched down and started digging.  He LOVED it!  He got so dirty playing in the dirt all day and eating chocolate cookies.  We all did a little four wheeling throughout the day.  Tyke had a blast riding his little four wheeler.  He does pretty good with it except he doesn't know how to use the steering handles right so he would either drive around in circles or take off in a straight direction, depending on how we had set him up.

Sunday morning we woke up to blue skies and a cool breeze.  We ate breakfast and then went for a long four wheeler ride.  Tyke tried his hardest to stay awake but fell asleep after about twenty minutes.  We got back to camp and visited for a while longer before packing up and heading home.  It was a great weekend and we're glad we have one of many trips this year officially under our belt!
