Tyke finally went poo in the potty! While I was pregnant our little guy showed a lot of signs for wanting to potty train. The problem was I was too exhausted and miserable to really go with it and I had heard to NOT potty train when a new baby was going to be coming into the family because it would undo everything. So I didn't push too hard and I didn't take Tyke too seriously and he quit showing interest, my fault. The last few days though I've started bugging him about potty training. I figured while I'm home on maternity leave it would make sense to try and get him potty trained. What a big job this is going to be!
Tyke will go pee in the potty no problem, if I ask, but he refuses to go number two. I started bugging him big time about it two days ago. Tyke's poop schedule is almost spot on, 9 a.m.-ish every morning. On Saturday and Sunday I missed catching him by seconds. Today I asked him to let me know when he needed to go and he could be a big boy. I was shocked when he stopped playing with his toys and ran to me grabbing his bum saying, "Mom, poooo!" We ran as fast as we could to the bathroom and put him on his chair. He peed but would not poo. I had him laughing and grunting, pretending like he was going to go and then all of a sudden he went! He was surprised and excited and so was I! We gave each other a high five and, after getting cleaned up, we snapped a picture to send to Daddy. We're so proud of our big guy! Here's hoping that potty training will be a breeze with our smart little Tyke! (Potty training = easy = yeah right!!)
