Can we say that that was a fast month?! Our little Luke is one month old today and getting so big and strong! I can't believe it's been a month since our little guy came into our world and completed our family!
He has been a pretty good baby considering. He has his days and nights mixed up a little but things are getting better. Luke thinks he needs to eat constantly and it's exhausting. I'm able to nurse him, which is a blessing, but the little guy will NOT eat like he should. He eats good he just doesn't eat for very long which in return makes him want to eat often. He's eating around every two hours, three if I'm lucky, and sometimes he thinks he wants to eat hourly but I won't let him. Luke likes his binky too, which is awesome for me when I need a little more time before feedings. Tyke is obsessed with making sure Luke has his "be-be!" (binky) and is always in his face trying to stuff it into his little mouth.
Luke is growing like a weed. His newborn clothes are tight and I think by the end of the week I'll be retiring them and bringing out the 0-3 months sizes, tear. We're almost out of newborn diapers but I think I'll just go ahead and move him into size 1's, even though they fit a little too big right now they'll be more comfy for him. Today while we had Tyke at the doctors office we asked if we could weigh our little guy to see just how big he's gotten. He weighed in at a whopping ten pounds! A pound more than Chad and I had guessed. Even the doctor was amazed. That means Mr. Luke has gained over two pounds in two weeks!
Luke is quite the snuggler and we love it! He loves to snuggle with me with his little head up under my chin and grabs a handful of my shirt. He loves to snuggle with his Daddy by laying forward facing on Chad's stomach.
Our little mister loves bath time! Now that he's all healed up (his umbilical cord and his circumcision) he can officially soak in the tub. Yay for no more sponge baths, he hated those. As soon as his chubby little body hits the warm water he calms right down and enjoys. Luke also loves laying on his play mat. He enjoys just being left alone and lying down on a hard flat surface. He occasionally grabs one of the toys that hang off of the play mat. I'm sure it's not on purpose but it's fun to see his surprised face when he actually gets a hold of one of those things.
Luke is starting to try and hold his head up and is getting stronger every day doing that. He has a mean little grip and if he has his hand in a fist there is no way you're getting it open. Luke has even started rolling over! Two days ago he started that new little trick and I couldn't believe it! He likes tummy time but not enough to stay on his tummy. He almost immediately rolls over onto his back when layed on his tummy now. He mostly rolls to his left, today he finally rolled to the right and with no problem at all. He's a smart little fart!
I hate that my baby is growing up so fast on me! He's only a month old but so big and strong and fun. We love our little Lukester and can't wait to see what new tricks he comes up with in the next month!
