A Productive Day

Our little family of three had a long, productive day today!  To start off we were up and out of the house by 6:30 a.m.  It was cow moving day out on the ranch and we wanted to take Tyke for his first cattle drive.  Unfortunately things didn't work out as we had hoped.  We got to Mona to find that the house was locked and Grandpa Terry was still fast asleep.  He woke up, and Grandma Cheryl woke up and we all visited for a few minutes before heading to Granny Gaye and Grandpa Wally's for breakfast.  We got to enjoy a good ol "Chef Boy Walleee" breakfast: eggs, bacon, toast, juice and coffee.  Quite the crowd gathered for breakfast and coffee: us, Grandpa Terry, Grams and Gramps, Drew, Rick, Dustin, Layne, Em, Swasey, Tristan and Rex.

After breakfast all of the guys hopped on their horses, 4wheelers and motorcycles and went out to herd the cows so they could be moved out west for the summer.  We really wanted to help out but by the time things finally got rolling it was time for us to head home and get ready to go to Quade's baptism.

We volunteered to pick up donuts for Grams and Gramps to feed all of their helpers.  The plan was to drop them off after the baptism but we decided that they needed to be dropped off sooner than that.  So after buying the donuts Chad dropped Tyke and I off at home so I could get us changed and Tyke fed, and Chad headed back to Mona to deliver the goods.  We met at the church just in time for the baptism program to start.  Darian gave a talk on baptism and did really good!  And Quade did awesome getting baptized and confirmed.  We're proud of Quade for choosing to be baptized!  It was such a special day and we're so glad we could witness.

After the baptism was over with we headed back out to Mona to the park for breakfast to celebrate Quade's big day.  We ended up staying for a few hours and taking Tyke to play at the playground (his first time!).  Aunt Jenny took him swinging and cousin Darian took him down the slides a few times.  He enjoyed it even though he never really smiled or got excited, silly boy!

After having enough sun we called it quits and headed towards home.  We detoured on the way there and stopped at King's Nursery and ended up purchasing a few trees and bushes for the yard.  Holy expensive!!!  Luckily everything was on sale and we feel like we got a pretty good deal.  We came home and Chad got right to work planting them.  We're so excited for our new trees and we're considering going and buying a few more!  We LOVE our home and we LOVE our yard!  It's going to be even better when these trees mature and we have awesome shade from them!

We got to spend quite a bit of time (in between planting trees) visiting with our next door neighbors and the neighbors across the street.  It was so nice and we really enjoy the neighborhood we live in!  Tyke and I played on the grass while Chad worked.  Tyke loves the grass and did pretty good sitting by himself on it.

We finished off our night by putting in an order at Lotsa Motsa pizza for a big salad and cheesy breadsticks.  We're both so exhausted, Chad more so than I, and glad that we survived our busy, productive day!  Life is GOOD!!! =)
