31 Months

This boy of ours is growing and growing so fast!  He is getting to be very independent and enjoys doing things on his own.  Lu is talking more now and it has been so fun listen to his cute little voice try new words.  Luke is Bampa's little buddy and loves to tease and hang out with him!  Luke loves his bikes and riding them nearly everyday.  He refuses to pedal still and is wearing the soles of his boots thin but he enjoys it.  Lu is showing an interest in electronics.  He always has but he actually gets it now and can play games or draw on the ipad.  He also loves racing dirt bikes on the mini Nintendo we just got.  Louie enjoys life so much and keeps on our toes constantly!  He's a fun little man with a short fuse and big temper.  He loves to tease and giggle and he especially loves to torment his big brother (pay back you know).  Luke we love you so very much and love watching you learn and grow!  Happy 31 months big boy!

T-Ball 2017

I'm officially a ball mom!  Tyke has been so excited for this day to come and let's be honest, so have we!  We let Tyke pick out a new ball mitt and a new bat last week.  He begged for a "backpack" for his ball gear but we wouldn't buy one.  We asked Aunt Jenny if she had any old bat bags lying around and lucky for Tyke she did!  He got a practically new bat bag with batting gloves and a bat included! This boy is ready to play!  He was super excited when the time finally came to play ball.  His coach is Coach Lyn Hansen from Mona.  Tyke's team is the Reds (Aunt Tiffy's favorite MLB team).  And Tyke and cousin Bowdee are on the same team!  Tyke listened to his coach intently and had so much fun playing ball.  He got to bat twice and each time he would hit the ball and then run after it, beating the other team to it.  We finally got him to run the bases.  He did so good and it was so fun to watch him play with all of his new little buddies.  This ball season is going to be a blast for us all!

30 Months Old 2 1/2 Years

Thirty months or two and a half years, that's how old my baby boy is today!  I'm not sure how that's even possible but here we are.  Luke is a very high maintenance, bossy, stubborn, funny, lovable little guy.  We are having so much fun with him and it just keeps getting better!

Luke got new boots the other day and he was in heaven!  He got to pick them out all by himself and he pretty much refuses to take them off now.  He has been so happy with them that he talks about them all of the time and has asked to go and show everyone his "new boos!"  It's been so funny to watch and definitely makes the $75 price tag worth it, eek!

Luke loves camping and he loves the dirt!  It doesn't take him long at all to find a good dirt pile and get completely covered in it.  He's a messy kid but he sure has a lot of fun doing it!  He loves playing with bubbles while camping too and even enjoys eating them, ew Lu!

Luke is obsessed with trucks, trailers and motorcycles.  They are his current favorite toys.  He also loves riding his bikes and is starting to ride the strider bike, well more like walk it around.

Lu LOVES to tease and teases anyone he can about anything he thinks is funny.  It has such a fun goofy little personality and has us constantly laughing.  He's our "class clown" for sure!

Last month Lu always wanted to "doe home" and this month he doesn't.  He refuses to get in the car to go home when leaving places.  He wants to stay where he's at and doesn't mind one bit if we leave him.  Of course we don't leave him but we will pretend to to see how he reacts and it doesn't bother him a bit.  It's funny how much changes in a months time with this kid.

Luke is now saying 3-4 word sentences.  He is speaking so much now and for the most part we can understand him pretty well.  He still gets grumpy if we don't know what he's saying after repeating words two or so times for us.  Some of his favorite most used words right now are:

  • "jack" (jacket)
  • "pock" (pocket)
  • "no doe home"
  • "want choco mil" (want chocolate milk, and when he says this he means NOW!)

Luke is wearing 3t jeans and shirts and even some 4t shirts as well.  He's in a size 6 diaper (still) and a size 9 boot.  He's a big boy for his age and staying right behind Tyke on the growth chart.  It won't be long before we're retiring the 3t clothing!

My baby boy is growing up too fast!  Time really needs to slow down.  We love the Lu so much and can't wait to see and hear what he learns in the next month ahead.  Happy thirty months old Bubba!

29 Months Old

Bubba-Lu is 29 months old today!  He's growing like a weed both physically and personality wise.  He is so much fun to be around, even when he throws his mega fits.

Luke loves his big brother and they get along so great for the most part.  Sometimes there are tears shed and it's usually Tyke.  Luke can hold his own and puts up a good fight for his age and size.  It's kind of funny but really not.  He's a bit of a bully and likes to sit on Tyke and make him squirm and cry for help.

Luke loves riding his bikes and is getting so good at it!  He does best on his big-wheel bikes.  He scoots along Fred Flinstone style and refuses to try the pedals out.  He loves going fast and taking sharp corners.  He wrecks frequently but is tough and it doesn't phase him.  It does however make his mamma's heart skip a beat to watch.  Luke uses his little feet to stop himself and wears the soles of his boots thin in doing so.  It's pretty entertaining to watch.

Louie loves to help out wherever he can.  His favorite is when Mommy is folding clothes.  He runs in exclaiming, "I hep ewe!" (I help you) and grabs the towels and tries to fold them.  He wads them up into a ball and hands them back to me thinking he's done.  It's pretty cute, until he grabs already folded laundry to help, then we have a problem.

Luke has a biting problem and poor cousin Jaxston is the recipient of almost all of Luke's bites.  We have tried everything to get him to quit but nothing seems to help just yet.  Poor Jaxston can be minding his own business and Luke will walk right up to him and start biting.  It's a problem and we're working to cure it.

We have been showering the boys at night lately instead of giving them baths and Luke is NOT a fan!  He hates it and cries almost the entire time he's in.  Showers are just more convenient for us right now because we're so exhausted by the end of the day.  Luke loves bubble baths but doesn't get to take many lately which makes him a bit grumpy.

Luke is starting to talk more and more and we are loving it!  It's so cute and fun to hear the new words he tries to say.  Currently he ends everything with an "ee"  For example: Mommy, Daddy, Tykee.  We used to be just mom, dad, and Tyke.  It's fun listening to his speech evolve.  His most used phrase right now is "doe home!"  He always wants to just go home no matter where we are or what we're doing.

Lu is still wearing size 3t clothing.  I'm not sure on shoe size because the boots he wears are definitely too big.  He refuses to wear anything but his boots!  Luke is still in a size 6 diaper with no sign of potty training yet.

We love our Bubba so much!  Happy 29 months kiddo!

28 Months Old

Sometimes I feel like time is going so fast that I can't keep up with this blog.  My Lu is another month older, already!  Time seriously needs to slow down!  Luke is 28 months old now, almost a year an a half, and is growing and changing so much.  He is getting to be so much fun with his wild, sassy, comical little personality.  I just love this stage he's in and the teasing that he does.  He really is a funny kid and we are convinced that he will some day be nominated the class clown.

Terrible two's for Luke have been hard for all of us.  We're still rolling with the punches but man can this kid throw a fit if he doesn't get his own way.  Luke is very stubborn and very opinionated and what he wants he wants now.  If that doesn't happen for him then he kicks his boots off at us, drops to the floor and screams a mighty fit.  Most of the time we try to just laugh it off and deal because it seems to happen so much but sometimes it really irritates us and Luke gets in trouble, which does no good for anyone because it makes the fit intensify.  Pretty much Luke wins, always.  He's way more stubborn than the adults raising him ha ha.

Louie is Daddy and Bampa Terry's biggest fan.  He follows them around like their own shadows do.  He thinks they're the greatest and doesn't like to share, at all.  Poor Tyke is always getting shoved out so Luke can snuggle Daddy or sit on Bampa's lap.  He's a character!

Luke LOVES bath time, especially with bubbles.  The problem with bubble baths though is Luke likes to eat them and drink the water, both gross.  He thinks it's great, Mommy doesn't.  Luke likes bathing and showering with big brother and they have a grand time making water messes for us to clean up.

Luke shows zero interest in potty training.  We talk to him about it daily but he doesn't want to go.  He will pee in the toilet before bath time almost every night but that's it.  I fear he might be harder than Tyke was but we're just going with the flow for now.  We'll talk it up and hopefully someday he'll care to listen.

Luke is a fan of cereal, with milk, now!  It has been so nice to be able to pour him a bowl of cereal for breakfasts.  He loves it!  It's only slightly messy for him but does pretty good.  Luke loves food and tries everything at least twice.  He is starting to like "dipper" for his chicken nuggets and meats.  Luke is a HUGE meat eater!  It is by far his favorite food.  It doesn't matter what kind of meat it is, he can never get enough.  I think maybe his favorite meal is bratwurst, corn on the cob and cottage cheese.  He devours it, sometimes even eating two brats!  It's amazing to see a two year old eat such a manly meal like that.  Way to go Bubba!!

Luke is completely out of size 2T clothes which is no surprise with the way he is eating and growing.  Some 3T clothing is even starting to fit a little snug.  Lu is still in a size 6 diaper and will be until the day he decides to be a big boy.  We bought him pull ups but they were only cool for like a day and even then he still peed in them and not the toilet.  Some day....  I'm not sure what size of shoe Luke is.  Is that bad?  He wear hand me down cowboy boots that are a size 10 1/2 which I know are way too big but he loves them and refuses to wear gym shoes and I'm not too keen on the idea of buying new boots, they're expensive!!

And that concludes Luke's monthly update.  We love our big brown eyed boy so much, temper tantrums, teasing and all.  He is honestly a little sweetheart, and a monster, and a jokester, and just plain fun.  Happy 28 months Bubba!

Night Owl

Slave

Last night was one of those rare occasions where I was ready to go to bed by nine.  I'm a late owl all the way so this was unheard of.  The boys were wide awake, thanks to late naps, and I had the kitchen left to clean from dinner time.  It bothered me but at the same time I just didn't care!  The boys got sent to bed, haha (we ALWAYS have to go into their rooms with them and sit until they fall asleep otherwise it's chaos) but they snuck the iPad in with them and played that instead.

I layed down on my bed and couldn't get up.  Chad got ready for bed, turned all of the lights off and climbed in as well.   He's always in bed and asleep by this time.  Anyway, we layed in bed listening to the boys play nicely (which is weird because they constantly fight over who gets the iPad) and sing along to the ABC's on the app they were playing.  We decided that rather than going in and standing guard we would just wait and see if they would go to sleep by their-selves.  Of course they didn't and after about ten minutes the iPad battery died and the boys realized that we were m.i.a. and came looking for us.

The house was dark and we could hear them running around in a panic looking for us.  Luke started to cry.  I felt bad but we decided to just wait and see... They finally came running into our room calling our names.  We pretended to be asleep, rude, I know.  Sometimes it's just fun to do so and listen to what their little minds come up with.  Tyke and Luke climbed in bed with us and tried poking us in the eyes to see if we were awake.  We finally caved and told them to go ahead and lay down and go to sleep.  In my mind I thought to myself that the dishes could wait until tomorrow.  We layed quietly for a few minutes, well except for Luke because he doesn't do that, and then Tyke blurted out: "Mom, go clean up the mess we made!"  Chad and I busted out laughing and couldn't stop.  I couldn't imagine what mess Tyke was talking about because it hadn't sounded like they dumped toys out or anything.  Chad must have thought the same thing because he asked Tyke, "what mess?" and Tyke responded with, "The one where we ate!" meaning, dinner dishes hadn't been cleaned up.  Tyke then proceeded to climb over his dad, snuggled up next to me and tooted!  I immediately jumped up out of bed while the boys all giggled, and went and cleaned the kitchen.  So much for an early night huh?!

Slow Down!

My handsome lil Tyke is so worried about growing up and growing big.  I hate it!  I want him to stay little and he knows it.  I seriously wish I could freeze time right now and keep my boys how they are at this stage in life!  Anyway, Tyke LOVES to tease me about him growing older and bigger all of the time.  This mornings conversation on the way to Grandma Cheryl's house went like this:

Tyke: "Mom, I detting bigger and bigger!"
Me: "I know Tyke, knock it off!  I don't like it!"
Tyke: "I four years old mom!  Den I going to be five and den I going to be six..."
Me: "Stop it Tyke!  Stop growing up so fast!  Stop getting so big!"
Tyke: "I tant mom!  I already four now!"

Time, please slow down!

4th Birthday Party!

4 Year Old Pics

How handsome is he?! My baby boy is four years old today and with happy tears in my eyes I snapped a few pictures of him before his big party.  He is so smart and kind and funny and brings so much joy to our family.  We love you so much Roni-man and hope you have had the best birthday today!
