Once it was time to go back to our room he got pretty hesitant. He walked all by himself, with a few nudges from us, and seemed fairly comfortable with the whole thing until we stripped him down to his diaper and let the nurse get his stats. He cried a sad, scared little cry like he always does. He just does not like the doctors office!
Tyke's 18 month stats:
Weight: 25 pounds 11 ounces (69%)
Height: 34.8 (98%)
Head: 19.6 inches (96%)
Tyke is our tall, skinny boy! Dr. Fullmer came in and looked Tyke over. Tyke once again started to cry but we quickly distracted him with one of the doctors tools. Everything checked out great for our little guy! He's healthy as can be and developmentally ahead of the game still. We had a good conversation with Dr. Fullmer on what we can do to help teach Tyke that hitting, pinching, punching, kicking and biting are NOT OK! Our little guy laughs at us when we try to discipline him and we're almost at a loss with what to do. Dr. Fullmer gave us a few suggestions that we're eager to try on Tyke to help lose these bad habits.
After Dr. Fullmer left, the nurse came back in and we held Tyke down while she gave him his immunization. He was not a happy camper! He stopped crying quickly and was impressed with his Superman band-aid. Tyke is officially done with immunizations until kindergarten, yay! We got Tyke dressed, let him pick out a sticker for doing so well at his doctors visit, and left.
We're so proud of our little guy! He's healthy, happy and just great!
